Development of women is a sign of progress and modernization

   08/02/2010

Development of women is a sign of progress and modernizationDevelopment of women is a sign of progress and modernization according to the President of Arab Women Organisation, Laila bin Ali.

She highlighted in the recently published third addition of the magazine “The Voice of Arab Women” that women development also reflects protection of human rights and dignity of mankind.

She also highlighted a dedicated trend in the Arab world starting from 2004 during Tunisian Summit to reinforce human rights principles and the role of women. “Since then, the empowerment of women has become one of the strategic plans for almost all Arab countries.”

Laila said that such goals couldn’t be achieved without the support of the Arab Women Organisation that comes under the Arab League. “We can achieve more human rights protection milestones, if such matters will be the focus on media resources and included in the curricula, as through human rights women could win their gender equality callings as bias-free society is an important human rights principle.”

Laila continued that achievements in the two fields have took place because of the adoption of many international approaches in such regard as well as the openness of societies to empowering women and fulfilling more human rights responsibilities.
