Since the signing of CEDAW agreement here this year, Palestinian women regained the zest of fighting for more rights for women, through calling for signing of other related agreements as well as amending local legislations.

The mid of 2009 witnessed the appointment of five female ministers in the Palestinian government, with the highest presentation of women in the government ever.
Women spend long period before being appointed in high posts and that was clear discrimination to many female freedom fighters in Palestine.

According to activists inequality towards women in recruitment in decision making posts could be attributed to the underestimation of women and their roles, but the new recruitment of five female ministers is a new and good beginning.

Siham Al Barghothi Out of the five ministers three of them reached the government through their parties. Siham Al Barghothi was given the Ministry Culture and she is an activist and politician. The Ministry of Social Affairs was given to Antisar Al Wazeer.  Ministry of Tourism was given to Khalood Daabis. Dr Lamees Al Alami was appointed as the Minister of Education and Tahani Abudaqa was appointed as the Minister of Youth and Sports.
