Algeria- Our Correspondent (Women Gateway)

A Presidential decree has granted Algerian women to pass their nationality to their children after Algeria archive imagewithdrew a reservation on the Conventional of the Elimination of Discriminations Against Women (CEDAW).

The reservation was lifted on a clause in the agreement that gives equal nationality rights to men and women.

Women Activist Warida Shawaqi said that the decree made all women happy as it was very devastating that children of Algerian women aren’t Algerians. The decision would help many Algerian women married to foreigners.
